Andreas Miranda (Sitar, disciple of Darshan Kumari) and Timo Preece (Tabla, disciple of Abhiman Kaushal) create a natural synergy between melody and rhythm by concentrating on the fundamental aspects of Hindustani music to carry the audience into a cleansing meditative state. Their music exposes the cyclical nature of the universe through the art of raga-based music.

“Orientation” is an intercultural oasis of exchange and art. – A festival with authentic music, food, culture and atmosphere of the so-called “Orient”, from North Africa to Middle East, from Turkey to India.
This year the Orientation Festival is hosted by Klunkerkranich – above the roofs of the intercultural heart of Berlin, Neukölln – probably the most diverse and cosmopolitan spot of the capital.
There’s no better place for our festival than Klunkerkranich whose crew knows how to take social responsibility in their neighbourhood.
This year “Orientation” lasts 4 whole days – because we want to provide a venue for presenting all facets of the cultural haven, the “Orient”

“Orientation“ ist eine Oase der Kunst und des Austauschs. – Ein Festival mit authentischer Musik, Küche, Kultur und Atmosphäre des sogenannten Orients, von Nordafrika bis zum Nahen Osten, von der Türkei bis nach Indien.
Die BesucherInnen erwarten über 20 Bands und Liveacts, 8 hypnotische DJ-Sets, Folklore-Tanzgruppen, Bauchtanz, Whirling Dervish, Video-Mapping und Visuals, türkisches Schattentheater, Geschichtenerzähler, Bazar-Kaffeehaus-Atmosphär
Dieses Jahr findet das Orientation Festival im Klunkerkranich statt – über den Dächern des interkulturellen Herzen Berlins, dem wahrscheinlich vielfältigsten und kosmopolitischsten Bezirk der Hauptstadt, Neukölln.
Kein Ort in Neukölln eignet sich dafür besser als der Kulturdachgarten Klunkerkranich, dessen Team schon immer verstanden hat, soziale Verantwortung für seinen Kiez zu übernehmen.
Das Orientation Festival wird dieses Jahr ganze 4 Tage lang sein, um so allen Facetten der Kulturoase Orient gerecht werden zu können.
